086 Holly J, Claremont, Australia

Hol is one of my oldest and dearest friends. She introduced Gen and I, a sin for which I shall never forgive (jokes!) and she was bridesmaid at our wedding. This is the second card I've sent her, but not because I've run out of addresses - yet - but as an extra to a bunch of other fun goodies. Enjoy!

085 Jo P, Oxford, United Kingdom

Jo is my stepbrother and recently got engaged to Emma and moved to Oxford to attend Hogwart's Crazy College for Wizard Kids.

I really like this card because it reminds me of the covers of books by one of my favourite authors, Iain Banks.

084 Georgia H, Five Dock, Australia

Georgia is a friend of Zander's, and recently enjoyed her birthday. She will soon be an architect, but presently a purveyor of find meats and cheeses. I love the old-fashioned woman on this card - more hats and bonnets I say!

083 Laura F, Tempe, Australia

Laura and I were at school together, and she's another one of my friends I greatly admire for navigating successfully the rocky waters of parenthood. Here we come! Only another 4 months now.

082 Hannah D, London, United Kingdom

I met Hannah at my early days Vibewire, running the Reelife Film Festival (the 2008 edition just passed last night, without me). She's also a fellow AFSer to Italy, which is not the sole reason I chose this card. This was built by the Fascist Mussolini as an Altar of the Country, and while a definite Rome landmark, evokes mixed reaction. My message to Hannah is about the crazy current political climate, and how it looks from over there in Blighty.

081 Sam and Delphine, Montbel, France

Sam came to our school from New Zealand in year 7 for just a year, but remains one of my closest friends, despite having lived abroad for all but the very beginning of our friendship. He married Delphine exactly 10 years before I married Gen.

080 Ros and John D, Nedlands, Australia

Ros and John are Gen's parents. Accompanying this card is a disc of photos I recently took of my irrepressibly cute new nephew Marley Jay. And I have chosen this card, as it's a place we've both visited in Tuscany.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

079 Ben R, Melbourne, Australia

I went to highschool with Ben. He is a Taurus who likes slam poetry and rubber.

Monday, September 22, 2008

078 Susa H, Hamburg, Germany

Susa is originally a friend of Ashley. When she returned to Germany she kindly continued to contribute design to Cyclic Defrost. I hope she'll still be able to, if she would like, not that I'm no longer involved.

077 Rosie R, Double Bay, Australia

Rose is my beautiful sister. She's off to explore the cloisters of Italy shortly, and here's one church I reckon she should see for herself.

Saturday, September 20, 2008

076 Luca F, New Plymouth, New Zealand

Luca was in the same intensive Dutch classes as me in Delft, 'summer' 1998. He now works as an engineer off New Zealand and occasionally comes ashore to buy chocolate sprinkles and collect his mail.

075 Genevieve D, Alice Springs, Australia

Gen is my wife. I'd like to say I'm writing to her because after two days I miss her desperately. In fact, she just forgot to take a bikini to the desert. It's hot out there apparently. No, I do miss you, come back soon!

Thursday, September 18, 2008

074 Sam D, Cremorne, Australia

Sam and I became friends at etching class during year 12. I never went to Italy with her school though.

073 Chris P, La Louviere, Belgium

Chris is Canadian, but we met worked together in Doha, where this attractive postcard was bought. She works in Belgium now, enroute to Macau. Tough.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

072 Thommy T, Bondi, Australia

Thommy contributed a design to a couple of the articles in the latest issue of Cyclic Defrost. He will be taking over as art director - issue 20 has been my last. :(

Monday, September 15, 2008

071 Alex W and Eden F, Newtown, Australia

Alex was a few years below me at school; she loved school so much she moved into a house with her man Eden as close to C Block as she could.

I love the photograph on this card - it's so epic but so simple and old fashioned.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

070 Geoff and Alyssa D, Winston Hills, Australia

Geffrodo was at Design Team when I was there and still is, always swanning off to exotic destinations to bump in exhibitions stands. His wife Alyssa had a baby boy Hayden shortly before our weeding. We don't see eachother enough!

069 Tahnee R, Broome, Australia

Tahnee is an old school friend of Gen's, and is now troppo in Broome.

Friday, September 12, 2008

068 Mike D, Redfern, Australia

Mike is Gen's brother. Here I thank him for introducing me (and by extension every other person since) the marvels of the comic genious Russell Brand.

The postcard is of the hole where the World Trade Centre stood 7 years ago today.

Thursday, September 11, 2008

067 Kinga S, Stockholm, Sweden

Kinga was an exchange student here in 1998 (I think), shortly before I would have bought this postcard at Musee D'Orsay in Paris with Hol and Gen. She should joing Zander's Tessa Street Massive Facebook group for contribution to come memorable nights at Chatswood.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

066 William B, Enmore, Australia

It was Will's birthday last week, so I gave him this hat.

I have know Will since about the second week of year seven. He's a devilish brat and I don't much care for his manner. Jokes! Happy birthday old fella.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

065 Chris W, London, UK

Chris is one of the girls from Gen's school. He is a stage manager by training but stubbornly refuses to live up to his potential and instead insists on being a lawyer.

I chose this postcard because it kind of looks like Sideways Custard on the ultrasound.

Monday, September 8, 2008

064 Amelia B, North Fitzroy, Australia

Amelia was at WAAPA when Gen was there, but I felt especially bonded when I learnt she knew my cousin Jack from school. Interestingly, she was also on exchange in a Dutch speaking city (Antwerp) when news came through about Jack. Gek!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

063 Martijn V, Delft, Netherlands

Martijn was one of my 6 fantastic flatmates when I lived in The Netherlands in 1998. I chose this card for him because it reminds me of how he rolled in those days! It's been so long now that I I have no idea if sitting on the computer continues.

Saturday, September 6, 2008

062 Fitri W, Dubai, UAE

Fitri was a couple of years above me at roll call in school. It is ramadan at the moment and I thought she might appreciate this hilarious card I picked up in Qatar, one of my all-time favourites...

Friday, September 5, 2008

061 Andrew and Ellie, Bondi Beach, Australia

I went to uni with Andrew and Ellie is his girlfriend.

This postcards is all about hair, something which has been concerning me lately. Or, my slow losing of it. Help!

Thursday, September 4, 2008

060 Anna W, Fremantle, Australia

Ann/Undies/Scooter went to school with Gen. I thought she would appreciate the wildly inappropriate approaches of a Moroccon water seller.

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

058 Gordon B, Paisley, Scotland

Gordo is a character from an Irvine Welsh book, but also another friend I made through the medium of semi-legal music internets downloading. Ya radge!

He also spent some time in Qatar so I hope he enjoys the gallows humour of this postcard - what a joyous life you can see these young women growing up to have...

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

059 Fleur L, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Fleur has recently arrived in Cambodia to work for an NGO for a year. Fleur is one of the 490 girls in Celia's year at North Sydney Girls High School. Bless you all.

Monday, September 1, 2008

057 Corrado C, Milan, Italy

Corrado is my Italian host brother and some kind of tourism Milanese marketing mogul.
